DIY Capiz Chandelier
In all my years of blogging and crafting, this is one of the most amazing labors of love I’ve ever seen. It just goes to show that if you want something badly enough, you’ll make it. See Jane Blog invited several friends over and did a lot of cutting and stitching of wax paper to get a gorgeous chandelier you might see in a high-end furniture catalog. I honestly can’t tell the difference (only in the price). What do you think?

Gorgeous! I made one out of rose petals BEFORE I saw all these will wax paper. The rose petals are probably easier but the wax paper gives a GREAT effect!!

love it, saw this idea on freshly picked, think she said it was from someone else she saw…? anyway, my point is I love it! I think it’s so awesome.
I think I would invest in one of those little circle cutter things.
This is gorgeous! The only question I want answered before I invest the time into the project is…will it hold up to dusting/cleaning over the long haul? I live in the desert with lots of dust.
@Kelly, I don’t know, but my guess is that this lamp is no fun to dust.
Hey Kelly – I would use my Swiffer duster http://www.swiffer.com/en_US/duster.do, which I already do for fragile items. It works well. But I agree with Heather. Not necessarily fun and you would have to be careful of tangles.
I am about to begin this project…do you hear the ominous music playing? Beethoven’s fifth I think…I shell ( hah there’s a crafty freudian slip ) I shall return with more comments later, when I’ve succeeded, or gotten frustrated…
You are going to do so well! Invite friends if you can.
