Union Jack Decor
It all started with this dresser from Miss Mustard Seed. Marian is an online friend of mine, and she is a furniture refurbisher extraordinare. Marian found this dresser, gave it a union jack treatment and in doing such got this lovely pattern on my radar. I have compiled some union jack goodies that might float your boat. While I don’t recommend covering your house in the pattern, you might want to consider a few well-placed pieces. I’d love to know which of these appeals most to you, and which are just too over the top for your design tastes. [via Miss Mustard Seed]

Hello gorgeous!! Come home with me, all of ya! I love every single union jack item posted. I wanted to marry that dresser that MMS did. And that huge wall paper hanging above the bed, is AWE-SOME!
I have a union Jack coffee table reveal coming up soon!
Love all of this..ALL OF IT! I`m going to try it out on an old dresser when the weather gets a little dryer.I love the idea of the quilt to.
Hee!The range is so insane, I have to say it’s my favorite. But in the ot-insane category, I love that trunk! And the original piece is stunning.
I personally like the Union Jack motif, but I’m an American. You have to be careful with this motif around Brits. In the UK, it’s associated with extreme right-wing nationalism (and attendant racism and such). See here, for example: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/2981038.stm
Hmm, interesting! I had no idea!
Umm… No it isn’t (And I’m a Brit)If anything then the English flag (that would be the Saint George’s cross) is occasionally associated with right-wing nationalism, obviously it was a slow news week when that was written. You have to be no more careful with the Union Jack around Brits than I would with your Stars and Stripes in fact less because we’ve never really understood the whole flag burning outrage, we’d just think it was a fire hazard rather than be offended
Great roundup of this decor style.
That range and the sweater chair are amazing! I am in great design company on this post. Barb from Knack is a good friend of mine as well, so it was fun to see our work side-by-side. Thanks so much, girl!
I think you need to start a business. There’s a real need for these types of pieces. I, for one, would die to have the top dresser and the knitwear chair. Gorgeous pieces and I would pay top dollar for them any day!
