If you are a fan of Mid-Century Modern design, the name George Nelson will be familiar to you. This bed is a DIY project inspired by classic MCM style. The hairpin legs are the most difficult item to find, the rest of the materials can be found at any big box hardware store.

My husband and I recently made 2 beds and matching nightstands just like this for our mid century home. We ordered our legs from a very nice man in the mid west @ http://www.hairpinslegs.com. The whole project including legs was under $350.00 for both!!!!
Neat bed idea but I know I’d be whacking my shins on the base over and over. This is also a bed for tidy people who do not utilize the real estate under the bed for storage. Lovely to look at though.
